South England University Town
Bournemouth is one of the finest university towns on England's south coast. Its beauty and numerous facilities have helped to make it an important centre of tourism, education and business. Harper and Queen's described us as "the next coolest place on the planet".
Bournemouth has now three times been voted England's best holiday resort. Its extensive facilities are ideal for both the holiday-maker and the many thousands of university and college students who live here. It is also a town of parks and flowers.
Bournemouth hosts numerous events during the year, including powerboat races, vintage car rallies, international tennis championships and windsurfing competitions. During the summer, there are weekly firework displays from the pier, musical events and the unique Flowers by Candlelight, when the people of Bournemouth gather to light 15,000 candles in the Central Gardens.
Bournemouth has become very popular within the business world. Several large companies have moved their offices into the town. We are also a major UK conference centre.
For those of you who enjoy shopping, Bournemouth also boasts a vast and brilliant selection of both high street and designer shops, hairdressers and jewellers.
The Language School in Bournemouth
In Bournemouth we recommend: BEET Language Centre
BEET was founded in 1979, with just three students! Since then, we have grown rapidly in size and reputation. Now, hundreds of students pass through our doors each year. Importantly, BEET is a family-run independent school. We are not part of a large group of schools.
The school is medium sized, which allows us to provide a properly structured learning programme and also guarantees you the individual attention you need.
The school building was originally a 19th century school and has great charm and character. Now modernised, the school is equipped with 15 classrooms, library and bookshop, 2 self-access centres with a total of 30 multi-media computers on ADSL broadband with free internet and e-mail services, language laboratory units, wireless, video facilities and canteen.
