Costa Rica is the most popular Central American country, and is located between Nicaragua and Panama, having the privilege of bordering both the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean. This country has its name from the Spanish for Rich Coast, significantly appropriate since the variety of climates; vegetation, wildlife and scenery are incredibly beautiful. The country devotes 35% of the land to national parks and reserves. There are many things to see and do in Costa Rica, enjoy hiking in the rain forests and mountains, go to one of the Caribbean or the Pacific spectacular beaches, visit active volcanoes, bathe in hot springs, do white water rafting, take a cruise to one of the islands, go diving and much more.

Costa Rica has many traditions and culture imported from the strong Spanish influence but also the Indigenous people have influenced the lifestyle enormously. Generally people are of Spanish descend as well as indigenous but some Costa Ricans originate from the African-Jamaicans that helped construct the railways in the 19th century. Costa Ricans like to celebrate and party, at Easter they celebrate their faith with processions during the Semana Santa (Holy Week). To really understand Ticos well (popular diminutive used to describe locals), you need to take their famous saying "Pura Vida", which means Pure life, to really grip what their character is all about, getting the best out of life!!!!
