Summer Course in Heidelberg (17-30 years)

Heidelberg, the oldest university town in Germany attracts students from all over the world. The beautiful location on the river, Neckar, the small old-town alleys, the numerous cozy student pubs, there are so many things young people like!

During the summer everybody meets on the river banks, the Neckarwiesen and enjoys the sunny atmosphere. All the street cafes are busy and open until late at night.

Instruction in Heidelberg is organized nearly the same way as our year-round Intensive Courses in Berlin, Frankfurt or Munich.

did provides spacious and well equipped instruction rooms on the campus with 5 lessons in the mornings from Monday to Thursday. On Friday teaching finishes at 12.30 p.m. This gives our participants the opportunity to start early into the weekend.

Campus

The college campus is located 3 km outside the city center in a quiet area of Heidelberg, called Pfaffengrund. It only takes 15 minutes to go downtown by tram or bus. Right in front of the campus is a station of a regular and frequent bus service. People staying out late can take group taxis. Nearby there are also different shops, a super market, some cafés and restaurants.

Leisure Program and Excursions

did offers two interesting afternoon programs per week, mostly cultural visits. On Saturdays full-day excursions are planned to cities like Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Speyer and Rothenburg o.d.Tauber.

The student residence

On the campus it is possible to use the laundry (fee), besides that there.is a spacious cafeteria with TV, billiards, table football and also hot and cold drink-vending machines. The green patio of the campus is very charming and in the student restaurant participants can get their meal at cheap student rates. The single rooms are comfortably equipped with sink, refrigerator, safety locker, TV (for fee) and an individual or shared bathroom (in between two rooms). The classrooms are spacious and modern with a suitable media equipment.

Accommodation with host families

Alternatively the school offers family accommodation in double rooms with half-board. Single rooms only on request and against supplement. Most families live in quiet neighborhoods in the outskirts or in nearby villages. Participants should not automatically expect to be served a hot meal in the evenings. Families who have the traditional warm meal at noon, might not cook in the evening. Public transportation offering convenient connections to the city-center is always easily available.
