San José - Beating heart of Costa Rica
San José is considered to be the real Costa Rica, its colonial Spanish history will catch your attention as you walk through its streets. 'Ticos', nick name given to Costa Ricans, are extremely friendly and welcoming, be sure to join in on some of their 'fiestas' and enjoy their music, plays and local dances at the remaining colonial theatres. The markets places are a must as you will see the exuberant of this land with its colourfulness and selection of tropical fruits.
This tropical Central American city is also known for its western flavour, being a capital city you will always finds a lot of things to do. This city has an active night life especially on weekends but during the week you will find entertainment, museums, theatres with both plays and live music, many nice international restaurants, nightclubs and bars.
